Selling on-line- why does it cost SO much?

Just a quick rant:

Recently decided to sell some items I have. In an attempt not to sound like I am attacking a specific on-line auction company I will just say it rhymes with "Fee Bay". The item I sold ended up costing me over $32 in fees between "Fee Bay" and it's Sister company "play Pal". I guess my gripe is that is has been a while since I have used "fee Bay" and do not recall the fees being SO high. I guess now I see the alure of people using Craigs List to sell things.

Maybe I am whining but I cannot even get to the money left for as much as 21 days!! I get to reach into my pocket to pay the "Fee Bay" Fees and the shipping in hopes that they will release my money before 21 days!!

I know this is really of no issue to anyone but I needed to Vent for a moment. I feel these charges are very high and digs into anything I stood to make on this item.

What have been your experiences?

How the H*ll did I not know this was about to be released?!?!?!?Too much work and not enough play makes Chris not know what is going on in the world. I am VERY excited about this news!
So much so I added the count down timer to the right with some cool links built into it. =)
